Our school culture, based on mutual respect, rigorous expectations, and continuous growth sets the conditions for strong academic growth and achievement. As reflected in the State’s 2024 Annual Performance Reports, among KC Charters, Genesis ranked 1st for growth, 2nd for overall academic improvement, and 10th for Overall Academic Performance. According to the 2024 SLU Prime Center report, Genesis ranked in the top 20 of Missouri schools for Growth in both ELA (#14 in the State) and Math (#1 in the State).
Genesis is a true Community School. We believe a school must be inextricably linked to the community it serves. We provide extensive school and community-based resources to support families and engage them in both student learning and community building. Parents attend weekly and quarterly programming focused on building community and effective parent-school partnerships. Community Partners provide academic support, character education and safety-net support to families and students.
Genesis Supports the needs of each child. We believe students have diverse academic and social-emotional needs. Genesis utilizes an evidence based tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health development. Through purposeful structures, Genesis creates positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where all stakeholders can thrive, while prioritizing implementation of research-based interventions in order to maximize growth and achievement for all students.

Crystal Robinson, Genesis Parent

As I went to many kindergarten round ups years ago I asked them all one question: “How would you help my child if they were having difficulty learning?” Most gave the generic answer we strive to make sure that every child has every resource to be successful. Genesis gave me a different answer. They said, “well, Mom that’s up to you. We provide many workshops and tutoring to assist your child. We will do everything in our power, together, to make sure your child is successful.”

My children don’t have learning difficulties and I am very involved with their academics, but I know that some parents just don’t have the time. I wanted to make sure that if there ever was a time that I couldn’t come to the school, that someone would be there helping my child through difficulties. I took a chance with Genesis, I allowed them to nurture and teach my children.

At first Genesis was a building on a street with a name, the teachers’ faces were unrecognizable now it’s so much more. It’s a community that strives to inspire students that there more than their circumstance. There more than what the world says they are. They are responsive, resourceful, responsible, and most of all respectful.
