Kristine Penn, Former Rockhurst Parent
Our family chose Rockhurst based on its reputation for developing leaders, a strong Catholic faith, and rigorous academics.
Rockhurst has surpassed all of my expectations. My son continues to grow in his faith with the opportunities RHS provides, daily mass before school, all school masses, class masses, adoration, and reconciliation. The Jesuits have a strong presence. He has also been challenged in all of his classes.
Rockhurst offers a wide range of activities including athletics, theater, robotics, debate, and music. My son had the opportunity to travel to Italy with the school choir and sing at the Vatican, an experience he will never forget.
School facilities: The chapel is front and center of the building. The students love the new Learning Commons. It creates a true sense of community as it is a place where students can gather at any time during the school day.
The parent association is very active and there are many opportunities for parent involvement.
Students come from 115 different grade schools and 95 zip codes. RHS has a diverse student population, and 47 percent of the students receive financial aid.
