Start at Zero

Start at Zero partners with parents and caregivers to promote healthy early childhood development for children from prenatal to age 5 in Kansas City. We are proud to be a Parents as Teachers® Blue Ribbon Affiliate. SAZ’s hallmark program, Home Visiting, brings the Parents as Teachers curriculum to a family’s home or to a community space through Family and Community Support Workers (formerly known as Parent Educators). SAZ recently opened their social enterprise, Start at Zero Play Café – a space for children and families to learn, be celebrated, and be well. Other programming includes Developmental Screenings, Group Connections (community playgroups and interactive learning experiences featuring the Kaleidoscope Play & Learn® model), and Parent Café (community parent conversation series).
